Maps, and only maps

Flamezam hosts Minecraft maps — worlds you load and play — for Java and Bedrock. Both are first-class here; neither is an afterthought.

Not skins, not mods, not standalone resource packs. A resource pack bundled inside a map because the map needs it is fine and expected. A resource pack on its own is not a map.

A map may say it requires a mod. It may not ship one. That is a line about what we can check the safety of, not a judgement about mods.

Publish your own work

Upload your own maps, or maps you have explicit permission to distribute. Re-uploading someone else’s work is the fastest way to lose an account here.

If your map builds on someone else’s — a terrain generator, a command library, a borrowed build — credit them in the description with a link where you can. Nobody has ever been penalised here for crediting too generously.

If your work has been uploaded by someone else, file a copyright claim or report the map. Both reach a person.

Describe it honestly

The description, the screenshots, and the version range are how somebody decides whether to spend an evening on your map. Getting them wrong wastes that evening.

  • Screenshots must be of the map. Not renders, not art you found, not another map that looks better than yours.
  • The version range must be one you have actually tested. “Every version” is almost never true and is the most common complaint on maps that get reported as broken.
  • The title should describe the map, not shout. No keyword stuffing, no “BEST MAP EVER 2026 WORKING”.
  • Say what the map needs — a resource pack, a specific edition, a minimum player count, experimental toggles.

What is not allowed

  • Anything designed to harm. Executables, world-corrupting payloads, or files pretending to be something they are not. Every upload is inspected, and this is what the inspection is for.
  • Stolen or re-uploaded content.
  • Sexual content, and anything sexualising minors under any framing whatsoever. The second is reported to the authorities, not merely removed.
  • Hate. Content attacking people over race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, disability, gender, or sexuality. Recreations of hateful symbols or events count, whatever the stated intent.
  • Real-world violence recreated to celebrate it, and content that harasses or targets a real person.
  • Spam. The same map uploaded repeatedly, empty maps, or maps that exist to advertise something else.
  • Links out to paywalls, link shorteners with ad gates, or download mirrors. The download here is the download. A page that sends people somewhere worse defeats the point of the site.

Comments and ratings

Rate what you played. A rating is feedback for the creator and a signal for the next player, and it only works if it reflects the map rather than your mood.

You cannot rate your own map. Criticism is welcome and useful — a map that does not work is worth saying so about. Abuse of the person who made it is not, and the two are easy to tell apart.

Do not organise pile-ons, and do not use reports as a way to attack somebody you disagree with.

What happens when something crosses the line

Anyone can report a map, comment, review or account. Reports reach a person, and the person who filed one hears back about what happened.

Depending on what it is:

  • Fixable — a wrong version range, a misleading screenshot — you will be asked to fix it.
  • Outdated rather than wrong — the map may be archived: out of browsing and search, page and history intact, and reversible if it is updated.
  • Stolen, malicious, or seriously against these guidelines — removed, and depending on severity the account is suspended or banned.

Every action is recorded with who took it. If you think a decision was wrong, reply to the notice or write to contact@flamezam.com. A person reads it.
